‘By empowering people to improve their lives, you give them freedom and quality of life’
~Lisa Brett
Introducing Lisa Brett. ‘blessings can be found in adversity’
Lisa Brett is a career writer and staunch advocate of following her bliss.
She has always loved reading self-help and personal growth books, which she was introduced to by a friend during a metaphorical bump in the road. The book she was loaned at the time put her in the driving seat to help herself when life suddenly pushed her into the wrong lane.
Lisa was born in Sydney, Australia, but she currently lives in southern England. She has dual nationality and has spent her life living and working in both countries. She began her writing career as a TV reporter and newsreader before ‘going to the other side’ and working in politics as a media advisor to cabinet ministers.
She also published many articles in popular magazines at one time and has worked in public relations.
A desire to work from home, so she could spend more time with her beloved dog, Daisy Boo, saw her ultimately establish a successful business as a family celebrant.
Lisa loves things that make her happy and they include, but are not limited to, overseas adventures such as climbing volcanoes and swimming with sealions and sharks. She also likes the surrealist artist Salvador Dali and world cinema. Meditating, gardening, nature, animals and chocolate. She adores her family and friends around the world as well as her golden Labrador Retriever.
Finding Happiness When It Hurts is Lisa’s debut book and was written following a spiritual awakening. This happened during the darkest period of Lisa’s life when she was consumed by an onslaught of toxic, heavy circumstances that happened to her one after the other, for a prolonged period of time.
Lisa felt traumatised and didn’t want to live anymore. Over time, she began the very slow and painful journey home – back to who she was and who she was always meant to be.
By detailing this within her book, Lisa hopes to help people to help themselves, in order for them to find happiness again when life throws them a massive challenge – or several.
